What Would Brian Boitano Do?

Olympic gold medalist, Food Network star, and real life super-hero, Brian Boitano came by Precita Park this weekend to film an episode of his Food Network show "What Would Brian Boitano Make?".

The inspiration of the show is the SF Street Cart scene.  Some of your favorite SF Street Carts were out this Sunday to feed Brian, hundreds of foodies, and get on Food Network.  The Creme Brulee Guy, Magic Curry Cart, Sexy Soup Lady, Soul Cocina, Lumpia Cart, Pizza Hacker, Gumbo Cart, Wholesome Bakery, Smitten Ice Cream, Evil Jerk Cart, Sweet Constructions, The Chai Cart, and yours truly Adobo Hobo were all together on a beautiful (FINALLY) day in the park.

Brian came by camera crew filming.  He went along trying the different food carts and word on the street (from fellow Twitter follower b_frank) "When I asked Brian, he said the Adobo was one of his favorites."  Woot woot!

Thanks for Food Network, Brian Boitano, and all the peeps who came out to make it a fun event.

Yelp! Goes Gaga for @AdoboHobo

Photos Courtesy of Yelp.com

Yelpers are crazy party-ers.  We want to thank Ligaya T. for the invite to an awesome YEE (Yelp! Elite Event) and thank all the Yelpers out there for coming out and all the great feedback.

Sorry for running out of utensils but much props to everyone who got MacGuyver (or MacGruber) on it out there and made chopsticks out of straws and spoons out of shot glasses.  Bigger props to those who went Filipino style and got their hands all up in the adobo!

MacGruber!

Some Yelpers getting gansta with it and eating adobo with their hands while in an asian squat position.

Check out Jay's review of the party and my review on Yelp! along with all the other Yelp attendees.

Thanks again Yelp!

The Debut of the Sisig Taco

Here it goes!

Sisig Taco

Gumbo Man smiles after his first bite.

Yesterday marked the debut of the newest addition to the Adobo Hobo menu, the sisig taco at The Temple Lounge in San Jose for the shop.swap.boogie holiday trunk show.

The tacos flew off the shelves (well, actually off the cart) and sold out within half an hour.

Keep following us for the next outing of the sisig taco.

Linda St. Street Food Revival Night

Last Friday night was the revival of the Linda St. Street Cart Party, only this time there was a lot more street carts.  The OG's were in attendance such as:
as well some brand new debuting carts:
This night definitely showed the impact of the SF street cart explosion.  Almost 20 carts were in attendance which is almost double the amount from the Moustache Party Night in August and probably quadruple what the original Linda St. gatherings were used to.

You know it's a party when the cops come by!  See you guys at the next one.

Cupcakin' With Mandy feat. The Cupcake Sandwich

Watch and learn about the "cupcake sandwich" technique.  It was taught to us by a wise man that we met catering an anniversary party in Stern Grove last month.  That guy, whoever he is, definitely deserves a Nobel.

Trust me, this will change your life.

Call To Flavor at Precita Park

Today we attended "Call To Flavor" a benefit for The St. Anthony Foundation put together by Soul Cocina.

All of your favorite street food carts were in attendance and there to raise money for a good cause.  It ended up to be a successful event and we raised a lot of money for the foundation.

Thanks to all who came and made it successful.

This Friday was SHOPWARS at 1AM Gallery and Adobo Hobo, Wholesome Bakery, and Brazilian Bites were there to celebrate the show.

It was a great event and an even better afterparty.  Kegstands and Flip Cup.

Much thanks to the 1AM crew for throwin' an awesome show and a great afterparty.
